Sand excavation is a practice that is used to extract sand mainly through an open peat ,beaches, inland dunes and dredged from ocean beds and river beds. The rapid urbanisation and development have encouraged increasing demand of sand for construction by real estate and builder It is a quick money making industry where tons of sands are illegally mined by sand mining mafia all across India.In discriminate , unchecked, unregulated plundering of natural resources goes on unawited unchecked.There is no specific regulations to put into unckhed mining along rivers banks and coastal areas .The officials have turned a blind eye .The cop -sand mining nexus is a reality. They fearlessly go about their business disprisimgly as mafia are controlled by politician .
